Responsibilities Provide leadership in the for the special projects team of producers and newsroom
The biggest news operation in New England, NBC Boston, NECN and Telemundo Boston seeks a dynamic Executive Producer of Special Projects with a proven track record. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision, production and execution of our Special Projects unit including our Investigative and Consumer units.
The team also includes the health and lifestyle/entertainment reporters.
The successful candidate will help take this team to the next level, come up with ways to showcase our original content in different dayparts and on different platforms.
Develop, from start to finish, relevant and high-impact investigative journalism
Help develop and encourage a culture of enterprise reporting that extends beyond the constraints of
Ensure writing meets station standards
Coordinate with other departments for daily production and topicals
Assist in development and execution of news department strategy
Must collaborate with reporters, photographers, and editors throughout production process
Assist with coverage of breaking news and big event coverage.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor’s degree required with a concentration in Journalism
Minimum 5 years producing experience in television news in a top 30 market
Must have excellent news judgment and communication skills
Strong writing and storytelling skills required
Ability to manage and influence a large group and to work effectively in fast-paced high pressure environment
Ability to work non-traditional hours, weekends & holidays
Experience in investigative journalism and digital platforms are a plus.
