As a Story Editor/Writer for NBC Universal’s Brand Development Games and Digital Platforms team you will be responsible for working with a group of developers and writers guiding and editing all writing content and maintaining the creative quality of a AAA Title. You will serve as a brand evangelist to ensure writing is not only extremely engaging for players, but also stays true to the voice and tone of the various IPs. The ideal candidate is passionate about great storytelling and can provide strong guidance and development for producing commercially successful stories. You should have deep knowledge of the creative process and a solid understanding of design and monetization opportunities in game and/or interactive entertainment product development.
This role will report to a Sr. Games Producer and works with all business stakeholders both internally and externally.Essential Responsibilities
- Knowledge of the creative process from concept through production, including a deep understanding of story and writing meant for mobile free-to-play games.
- Extensive experience editing and revising scripts for film, television, and interactive media including console and mobile games.
- Demonstrable experience developing and/or producing commercially successful stories.
- Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders to drive brainstorming, incorporate constructive feedback, and liaise between developers and producers both internally and externally.
- Passion for highly engaging storytelling and deep understanding of NBCUniversal’s vision and current audience.
Basic Qualifications:5+ years of experience in game content design.
Deep skills in game narrative and interest in narrative in film, television, comics, books, and games.
Passion for multiple genres of writing, i.e. Romance, Fantasy, Adventure, and Comedy.
Strong design mentality and intuition for game mechanics and flow.
Proven understanding for game design and experience in collaborating with other. disciplines on game development projects.
Avid gamer experience across multiple platforms and genres.
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with others.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
