NBC Universal’s Global Media Operations team provides digital workflow tools and services to organizations throughout NBCUniversal including NBC, USA Network, SyFy, Bravo, Oxygen, Telemundo, CNBC, Universal Pictures Group, NBC News, NBC Sports, Saturday Night Live, Late Night, The Tonight Show, and local TV stations. The wide range of services provided by the Global Media Operations (GMO) team include centralized conditioning and delivery of critical NBCU film and television assets, distribution of on-demand content and live streaming events, and development of web and mobile software. The GMO team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the tools for digital media playback, delivery, syndication, and processing; assisting with support of existing proprietary products, third party applications, media server infrastructure; and researching new tools and standards for our business. As a part of the GMO team, you will be instrumental in building iOS software within the Video Platform team to help build a state-of-the-industry digital platform.Essential Responsibilities
- Design and build SDKs and applications for the iOS and tvOS platforms.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and continuous integration
Qualifications/Requirements3+ years of experience developing iOS/tvOS applications using Objective-C
Experience with RESTful APIs to connect iOS/tvOS applications to back-end services
Expertise in package management systems (e. g. CocoaPods and Carthage)
Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools
Proficient understanding of client-side libraries and APIs
Experience with code versioning tools such as Git
Familiarity with continuous integration
Excellent written and oral communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
Experience with the full SDLC process, versioning, code management, and deployment methodologies
Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, or related field
Experience with interactive media & video
